ATRIUM at Digital Humanities Congress 2026

ATRIUM successfully presented two research papers at the biennial Digital Humanities Congress 2026, held September 2–3 at the University of Sheffield.

Sarah Middle and Émilie Pagé-Perron presented ‘Enhancing the ARIADNE Portal through European collaboration’ and Diana Maynard presented ‘Archaeologists Only Need Small Maps: A Geometric Approach to Geoparsing’.

During the conference, ATRIUM researchers demonstrated technical enhancements to the ARIADNE Portal, including 3D visualization tools and expanded cataloging capabilities driven by EU-funded collaborations.

Additionally, project partners presented a geometric approach to geoparsing designed to extract and disambiguate location data from archaeological literature

Both presentations highlighted ATRIUM’s commitment to improving data findability, spatial analysis, and cross-disciplinary access for arts and humanities researchers across Europe.
