LINDAT/CLARIAH-CZ is a combined national node of three large European research infrastructures CLARIN , DARIAH , and EHRI . LINDAT/CLARIAH-CZ hosts data repositories and runs web services for research and industry. The hosted data sets encompass a wide range of arts and humanities disciplines, especially linguistics, archival studies, and history. Most of the services aid Natural Language Processing tasks. LINDAT/CLARIAH-CZ also manages proper licensing of all content and services for research and education, as well as for commercial use where possible. The LINDAT/CLARIAH-CZ consortium consists of leading Czech GLAM and research organizations in linguistics, history, archaeology, ethnography, bibliography, cultural research, history of arts, film, visual arts, music, and philosophy.
What this TNA offers
Artificial Intelligence is a popular and growing trend that is affecting many areas of life and academic disciplines, including the humanities and social sciences. In response to the growing importance of rapidly emerging computational technologies, this school presents the technological foundations of Artificial Intelligence in an accessible manner. During the school, students will acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for solving real-world problems using available data and Artificial Intelligence methods, particularly in text analysis. To this end, students will learn to use tools in the R programming system and independently navigate technical literature. Graduates of the school will be able to analyze and process data from various Humanities and Social Science disciplines and use it for experiments with Artificial Intelligence. Prerequisites: Students should be motivated to experiment with Artificial Intelligence, including neural networks. They are expected to have basic proficiency in the R system as well as elementary knowledge of systematic data processing and statistical analysis.
Practicalities
The course is free of charge. Individual accommodation (up to 2000 Kč/day) and travel expenses (economy class, up to 600 EUR) will be reimbursed (handed out in cash against proof of payment). No meals are provided but participants will receive per diems in amount of 933 Kč per day. The organizer does not provide any medical insurance.
